My Yoga Journey

My mum took me along to my first yoga classes when I was eleven, believing it would provide us some time to switch off and help to keep our bodies healthy in the meantime. I immediately fell in love with the practice - both the physical and mindful aspects that I was introduced to. Thanks to her, I was able to continue practicing until I left home for University. When I moved away, I stopped practicing as other things in my life took over. It took me a few years to realise that I felt lost and that perhaps it was because I had overlooked the impact that yoga had on me. I naturally returned to the practice, reading about it, drawing poses, practicing asanas and mindfulness. It wasn’t long before I travelled to Darjeeling in India and completed my teacher training. It was a life changing time and yoga has been part of my life in some form ever since. Over the years, I became interested in Yin yoga and trained in this in a beautiful part of Italy. Having been based in South Lakes for a few years now, I’m lucky to be surrounded by nature and find myself grounded by observing the seasonal changes continually happening around me.
